Although there isn’t any snow just an hour or two south of us, we have plenty of snow here in the Mt. Washington Valley. The skiing, both downhill and cross country is terrific! February is a great month to come up and enjoy all the winter activities the White Mountains has to offer. In addition to the great conditions, our Midweek ski package – where we give you a lift ticket for only $5.00! when you stay with us for two nights midweek- is available during the NH school vacation week – February 26th – March 1st.

Awesome cross country skiing at Jackson Ski Touring

We just returned from another awesome day of cross country skiing at Jackson Ski Touring Center. We skied some of our favorite trails – starting at the Christmas Farm Inn trail to the John, the Wave, the Henry and all around the Eagle Mountain Golf Course. The views were incredible and the groomers had done a great job!

NH Sanctioned Snow Sculpting at Black Mountain

This event will take place on January 27th – 29th, 2012. We recommend that you come and see the entire process of the sculptor taking a very blah cylinder of snow and sculpting it into an amazing piece of art frozen in time. The process takes 2 full days with the finished piece ready for viewing on Sunday at noon. This year’s winners of the NH Sanctioned event will represent the entire state of New Hampshire in the 2013 Nationals held at Lake Geneva WI where more than 1/4 million people will visit.
Other activities planned for the snow sculpture weekend include a welcome reception dinner, with a bon fire and S’mores, kids snow art, sleigh rides and more. Be sure to check out the Jackson area chamber website for all the event details.

You can meet our sculptors and learn more about this event and what it takes to complete one of these impressive pieces of art by joining us at the Shovel Handle Pub on Saturday evening at 6 PM, January 28th, 2012.

We encourage all visitors to vote for their favorite “People’s Choice” award… votes can not be cast until Sunday morning… you need to see the pieces really take shape before you can tell which one you will like the most. This award is the coveted award that each team wants to win and only you can help them take it home! The public is encouraged to join us at the awards ceremony also being held at the Shovel Handle Pub just next to Black Mountain Ski Area.

A Maple Sugaring Event That Will Tap Your Sense of Whimsy

This Spring, tap into the fun of the annual March Maple Madness Inn-to-Inn tour hosted by the Bed & Breakfasts Inn Mount Washington Valley.

On Saturday, March 24th, 2012, from 10:30am – 5:00pm these inns will offer you the opportunity to experience a self-guided tour of their properties, sampling maple selections both savory & sweet along the way. There will be a wealth of information about ‘sugaring’ at the participating maple sugar houses and the other ‘Maple Country Partners.’

In addition to the fun-filled, informative tour and samplings, March Maple Madness offers the more daring ticket holders the opportunity to compete for hundreds of dollars in prizes. For more information on the tour click here.

Whatever season you choose to visit the White Mountains, you will find a plethora of activities to entertain you, and the Covered Bridge House located at the center of it all!

In winter, enjoy the fabulous local skiing with downhill resorts and cross-country skiing trails just minutes away. Return to the Inn to enjoy hot cocoa by the fireplace in the living room. In summer, enjoy the day by the river in our back yard. Tube downstream to the covered bridge or find that perfect rock for sunbathing. In any season, a relaxing soak in our outdoor hot tub is a perfect way to end the day.

We want you to feel at home in our cozy bed and breakfast. Decorated in colonial country style with braided rugs and stenciled walls, we offer a comfortable, casual atmosphere. Our guests enjoy relaxing by the fire on cold winter afternoons, working on the current jigsaw puzzle or just chatting with one another in the living room. Breakfast is served daily in our bright and cheerful dining room where guests can dine at individual tables yet still engage in conversation with one another if they choose.

Each of our guest rooms are individually decorated with handmade quilts, antique dressers and a touch of whimsy. You might find a cuddly teddy bear on your bed or perhaps enjoy a purr-fects night sleep in the “cat room”.

Guest Rooms

We offer five guest rooms individually decorated in charming country decor with antique furnishings as well as modern conveniences. Cozy featherbeds, in some rooms, lots of pillows and down comforters are sure to provide a restful nights slumber. Listen to your favorite music from your ipod in our i-home alarm clock as you drift off to sleep. Some rooms offer a view of the Saco River through the trees while others look out upon our Covered Bridge. Our two bedroom suite has one room with a queen size bed and one room with two twin beds which is perfect for a family of four. This suite offers plenty of room for four as well as privacy.

The Covered Bridge Shoppe is a truly unique gift shop located inside the Bartlett Covered Bridge. But there’s more to this shop than just a great location. We feature a distinctive collection of country home decor items including candles and accessories, throws, pillows, wall art and pottery, flags, chimes, plush animals and more at reasonable prices in a friendly atmosphere. In addition, we offer a full line of souvenirs including a great selection of T-shirts.

Since 1965, the Covered Bridge Shoppe has been a favorite stop for travelers in our valley. While on vacation in the beautiful White Mountains, or if your lucky enough to call New Hampshire home, be sure to stop by and visit us.

We are open seven day a week from Memorial Day Weekend through October, 10 AM – 5PM. We will also be open on December 10th & 11th, 2011 for our annual Cookie Tour Weekend.

Weekend/Holiday Ski and Stay Package -

Stay with us on a weekend or holiday and ski at your choice of Wildcat, Attitash or Cranmore Mountain for a special rate of only $296.00 per couple. If you prefer to ski at Bretton Woods, our special rate is only $310.00 per couple. Our ski and stay package includes two nights lodging, double occupancy, two full breakfasts each morning and two lift tickets.

We also offer a special ski and stay package rate for a family of four (2 adults & 2 children under 12) in our two bedroom family suite. The package includes two adult lift tickets and two youth lift tickets for Cranmore, Attitash or Wildcat, plus two nights lodging with a full country breakfast each morning for only $444.00.

If you prefer Nordic Skiing, we offer a special package rate for Jackson Ski Touring, the #1 Cross Country Ski Area in the Eastern United States, of only $228.00 per couple.
