Winter
6 major downhill ski areas are located within a short drive of

Ice skating -- from the new indoor ice arena in Conway, to the
outdoor rink in Schouler Park, North Conway to the picturesque pond
at Nestlenook Farm in Jackson, there is a setting to suit everyone.
Seasonal Events such as First Night, Jackson Winter Carnival,
the Polar Express and Wintry Trails.
Spring & Summer
- Miles of hiking trails will take you to a scenic outlook,
a hidden pond or a mountain summit.
- There are over 100 waterfalls in the White Mountains. Some
are easily seen from the road, while others require a hike.
- Mountain bikers can choose from old logging roads and mountain
trails or lift-served biking at some of the region's downhill
ski areas.
- Tour the covered bridges of Carroll County, starting with
our very own "Barlett Covered Bridge"!
- Rock climbing at Cathedral Ledge, White Horse Ledge and Frankenstein
Cliff.
- Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing and, of course, swimming
in the many rivers and lakes, including the Saco River, just
behind our Inn.
- Wildlife viewing -- particularly moose and black bears.
- Take a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad.
- Golf courses, regulation as well as mini.
- Travel to the summit of Mt. Washington (the highest peak in
the Eastern United States) via the Auto Road or the Cog Railway.
- Amusement parks for the whole family to enjoy, caves to explore,
scenic gondola rides and even a water park.

Autumn
- Scenic drives are enjoyable in all seasons, but absolutely
spectacular in the Fall.

- Tax-free shopping at the many factory outlet stores, antique
shops and handicraft shops in the valley, as well as our very
own Covered Bridge Shoppe located inside the "Barlett
Covered Bridge".
