Welcome to the White Mountains


You won't have any problem finding things to do around our cozy little inn. We are right in the center of the Mt. Washington Valley; New England's most popular four-season resort.

  • 6 major downhill ski areas are located within a short drive of the inn: Attitash/Bear Peak (2 minutes), Cranmore (10 minutes), Black Mt. (15 minutes), Wildcat(20 Minutes), Bretton Woods (25 minutes) and Cannon (30 minutes)

  • 4 Nordic Networks offering hundreds of kilometers of groomed cross-country trails are also nearby: Bear Notch Ski Touring (10 minutes), Jackson Ski Touring (15 minutes), Great Glen Trails (25 minutes), and Bretton Woods (25 minutes)

    Spring & Summer
    • Miles of hiking trails will take you to a scenic outlook, a hidden pond or a mountain summit.

    • There are over 100 waterfalls in the White Mountains. Some are easily seen from the road, while others require a hike.

    • Mountain bikers can choose from old logging roads and mountain trails or lift-served biking at some of the region's downhill ski areas.

    • Tour the covered bridges of Carroll County, starting with our very own "Barlett Covered Bridge"!

    • Rock climbing at Cathedral Ledge, White Horse Ledge and Frankenstein Cliff.

    • Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing and, of course, swimming in the many rivers and lakes, including the Saco River, just behind our Inn.

    • Wildlife viewing -- particularly moose and black bears.

    • Take a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad.

    • Golf courses, regulation as well as mini.

    • Travel to the summit of Mt. Washington (the highest peak in the Eastern United States) via the Auto Road or the Cog Railway.
